You can deactivate and archive inactive templates, to ensure they are not used within any future records. This also helps to keep the template list tidy and easier to manage.
You may wish to archive a template if you are going to recreate a template and make changes to it, but it has already been used when creating records. By copying an existing template and making the changes, the old template can be deactivated and archived, to prevent it being used in future.
If you would like more information on copying and editing existing templates, feel free to take a look at our FAQs here. |
Deactivating and Archiving Templates
To deactivate / archive a template, go to Admin > Templates > Template.
Templates must be set to ‘Inactive’ before you are able to archive these, which can be done by clicking the red pause icon in the Actions column. This means the template can no longer be selected when creating new records. | |
The archive icon will then appear, allowing you to archive the template. This will hide the template from your Template List, however you can use the 'Include Archived Templates' toggle to view these if needed (displayed in a list at the bottom of the page). This will also include the option to unarchive and reactivate a template if needed. |
