If you're looking to create a brand new category, please see the following article - Creating New Categories (Admin).
Editing Existing Categories
If you need to make amendments to any existing categories then this can be done in Admin > Templates > Categories.
Changing Category Name, Template Type or Privacy
To amend the name of a category, the associated template type (if not in use) or Privacy, you can click the blue pencil icon in the Actions column. For any default categories provided by us, you will see they are 'Locked' and cannot be amended.
The Privacy options for each Category are as follows:
- Standard - Any records created using the category will follow the standard permission structure (the individual user permissions via the User List).
- Restricted - Any records created using the category will be restricted, meaning only the individual users listed on the record itself will be able to see it (i.e. Observer/Owner and Observee(s)) as well as Sisra Admins and the creator of the record.
Note - It's worth noting that once a category is in use, you aren't able to amend the associated template type. When amending the ‘Privacy’ of a category that is already in use you are only able to change this from ‘Standard’ to ‘Restricted’. It is not possible to amend a Restricted category back to 'Standard'. |
Amending Assigned User Groups for a Category
You can click into the group count for a category (blue underlined figure, in the Group Count column), then click ‘Edit User Groups’ to change the groups assigned to a category.
In the screenshot above, you can see we have an SLT category, with only the Admin and the Senior Leadership Team user groups having access to this. Only users within these groups will have access to use templates linked to the SLT category, or view the records and reports based on them.
Activating or Deactivating a Category
To activate a category, click the green play icon in the Actions column.
To deactivate a category (so it can no longer be used) you can click the red pause icon in the Actions column.
Deleting a Category
Only categories that are not associated to a template can be deleted. When available, this can be done by clicking the red cross in the Actions column. Note - this cannot be undone.
