The terminology used in this section may differ to your account, depending on when you subscribed. Existing customers can request for selected labelling to be switched, to help ensure inclusivity of all staff. For example, instead of ‘Curriculum’ this would be ‘Structure’, and ‘Faculty / Subject’, can be switched to ‘Department’ and ‘Team’, which is referenced below. If you would like your account to be updated to the new terminology, please pop onto Live Chat or email cssecondary@junipereducation.org. |
What is the Structure section used for?
The Structure section in Observe allows you to create and manage your departments and teams, to replicate your team/organisations structure. These are used to control the reports, records, staff and permissions. This must be set up before you are able to import staff or start creating templates.

What are Departments and Teams used for?
Departments and Teams are available to select when creating a record. These will then become filters within the reports, to allow you to view figures on a specific group of records. This also provides department or team analysis in the reports, such as viewing the number of outcomes achieved in a focus area across all departments or teams. |
When importing staff data, you must include at least one team for each staff member, which will determine which staff are available to create records against for particular departments or teams. This also helps to determine the permissions for each member of staff, and therefore which records and reports they have access to view.
